Calling all Pokémon fans – and Post Malone fans – as part of Pokémon’s 25th Anniversary (P25) celebration (can you believe it’s already been 25 years?!), the franchise is set to release an album to celebrate, and it will arrive this coming Fall!
What once started as a popular card game has evolved into themed virtual games on almost every game console, including Game Boy, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo Switch (and, of course, in Super Smash Bros.). An animated show featuring the Pokémon worlds has also aired over 20 seasons since 1997, movies galore, the Pokémon Go app, and, most recently, Detective Pikachu, a live-action film released by Warner Bros. in 2019. And Pokémon shows no signs of slowing down either.
While you wait for the rest of the P25 specialty merch and goodies to roll out over the course of the year, you can rewatch Post Malone’s virtual concert experience with P25 on their YouTube channel. The event featured Posty himself, but digitized on stage and surrounded by iconic Pokémon floats in a digital arena; although its not safe to hold large gatherings like concerts right now, digital concerts like this one are evergreen and a great substitute experience for fans.
To keep the celebration going, P25, the Pokémon’s 25th Anniversary team, Pokémon has teamed up with Capitol Records to release an album that will feature 14 Pokémon-inspired songs by 11 different artist, so far including Post Malone, Katy Perry, andJ Balvin.
Other exciting features to celebrate the 25th anniversary include limited edition cards that can be found in General Mills cereal boxes like Trix, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, and Cocoa Puffs.
There will be plenty more music, news, and even special, limited-edition products that fans can get this year to celebrate – all with the special P25 logo, which is none other than Pikachu!
Right now, you can already get items like a jacket, poster, T-shirt, glasses, tumblers, lanyards, and pre-order the super-cute Galar Region Pikachu Poké Plush.
